After the disappointing loss the previous week, the squad had regrouped and were determined to put in a decent performance on the road again as we travelled down the m27 to Fair Oak.
We skipped individual match reports for our first 2 league games, partly because we are a modest lot in the 3's and partly because both games were lost !
We did take the positives though from our opening 2 matches....a great track provided by Spready at our new base in Long Sutton, solid batting by last year's top scorer Netty, belligerent batting from Max, keeping the horses on their toes in the field over long off.
Following on from a good away win, the 2nds returned home to face Donnington 1sts, a team who like us had had two differing performances. On the selection front, Dan’s return home meant he was welcomed with open arms into the 2s, as was Keiron Walkden for his debut. There was a sway of Hall’s as Matt returned for Oli, and a trio of Pocock’s completed the changes.
After the disappointing last place in Eurovision and the polarising result of the European elections, we have another big week in Europe on the football front.
After a successful opening weekend of the season, the mood in the Odiham camp was buoyant as we looked forward to our first home game of the season.
St. John Cox ound this in the Long Sutton Pavilion earlier in the week. He has put it behind the main bar if you recognise it.
After a disappointing performance to open the season, the 2s looked to get their first win in the board away at Bramshill Police College against Hartley Witney 3XI.
It was finally the start of the new league season and the 1st XI had the job of travelling away first game.
Our first stop was an away day in Bournemouth against a newly promoted team.
