The OGCC XI set sights on a second victory in two weeks as they entertained Kingsclere this weekend. With the skipper absent on golf tour duties, vice captain Phil Thomas stepped up to take over the reigns.
Sunday saw a fantastic match at Ashford Hill for the Sunday 2nd XI. OGCC fielded two under 11 players and an under 13. Arthur Johnson and Max Guibeleguiet both bowled fantastic spells with combined figures of 15 overs for 2 wickets and 62 runs. Arthur also held onto a sharp catch at mid wicket, so they were involved in 3 of the 5 wickets taken.
Simon Kelly competed at the World Triathlon at Hyde Park. Simon was raising money to help continue the work the club is doing to transform the Anniversary Corner. The ITU World Triathlon features the best in the world, including Olympic Gold Medalist Alastair Brownlee.
OGCC’s very own Lara Barrett has spent the week on tour as a Sports Psychologist for the England Visually Impaired team. The six match series against India meant that Lara travelled to Leamington CC (ODI), Wolverhampton CC (ODI), The Kia Oval (T20), Arundel Castle (ODI) and a T20 double header also at Arundel Castle.
OGCC would like to thank all those that donated bottles and came to visit the Magna Carta tombola. Donna Wells, Bruce Aplin, Jane Brown, Kevin Brown and Betts Cross delivered a superb team effort that helped to raise a fantastic £565 for the club.

OGCC won a real humdinger vs Old Basing - by 9 runs
OGCC batted first and scored well. Great improvement at running byes, overthrows, quick singles (especially Oliver Groslin). There were some fantastic boundaries from Monty McCart, Freddy Wallis (2 awesome blows), Daniel Corfield, Thomas Orange, and Heston Gardiner (smashing a very high full toss over cover).
