There are reports of a cricket club in Odiham being founded in 1764 with the club's first match recorded being against a team from New Alresford. However, the history of this club is foggy and 83 years later, in 1847, there was an announcement in the Reading Mercury newspaper that Odiham Cricket Club had been formed.
Today, Odiham & Greywell Cricket Club has four teams playing on Saturdays, two Women's XI, a Sunday XI along with a midweek team. The club also boasts an active junior section with teams for both boys and girls.
When the Club moved to the current site from Odiham Common in 1980, some of the members recorded the history of cricket in the area. Here is a digital version of that booklet.
